Community Groups

All children from Nursery to Primary 7 take part in Community Groups. Nursery, Primary 1 and Primary 2 are the Eco Warriors. The rest of the school from Primary 3 to Primary 7 are mixed up into the other Community Groups.

If you would like to support our Community Groups then we would love to hear from you! Our Community Groups are every second Tuesday. Please get in touch with the school office if you would like to get involved.

This year our Community Groups are:

Pupil Council

The Pupil Council is guided by Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child which states that all children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives. During 2022/23 we helped to raise awareness of children's rights across our school community including leading a information session for parents. Our work helped our school achieve a Rights Respecting Schools Bronze Award in 2022/23 and we are now working towards achieving our Silver Award.

Eco Explorers

The Eco Explorers are working hard to help the school to be green! This session we have organised school litter picks and learnt about how long different materials take to decompose. During Switch Off Fortnight we encouraged all classes and staff to be more economical with their power usage and as part of Waste Week we shared with the rest of the school information about the problem of electronic waste. We have also planted seeds to grow plant s for our school garden and we have provided every class with compost caddies so that we can make our own school compost. Local business Livvies are sharing their used coffee grounds which we add to our school compost heap. During 2023/24 we will be looking at how we can recycle more waste and joining in with a project to protect the River Tay. We love making a positive difference to our school environment and helping the planet at the same time!

Eco Warriors

All children in Nursery, P1 and P2 are part of our Eco Warriors group. This session we have found out about the important work of bees; we have found out about the different types of bees in our playground, discovered information about the life cycle of a bee and we have learnt about honey and where it comes from! We have also been learning about trees and all the things that we use which come from trees. Finally we have also been den building for different weathers, finding out about minibeasts and how the weather affects them as well as thinking about plants and and how different plants grow in different weather conditions.
